In five lectures, film lecturer Fred van der Kooij explores the fictional elements in documentary film using numerous examples: from the widespread rearrangement of real events and mockumentaries to the staging of historical key moments in docudramas or the mixed forms of feature and documentary film popular on television. The third lecture focuses on alleged and productively used mishaps in the staging of documentary films as well as the mésalliance between documentary and feature film, which can also lead to breathtaking results.
