Der Fall ist Kurt Frühs verzweifeltster, sein schmutzigster und… sein bester Film. Am Ende seiner Laufbahn kommt endlich alles auf den Tisch. Die ganzen Lebenslügen, die Melancholie, die Einsamkeit, der Tod, all das, was er vordem in seinen Kleinbürger-Melodramen allzu oft hinter runden Enden und geglätteter Sozialkritik hatte verbergen müssen.
